About Us
Heartbeat of a Planet is a philanthropic project revolving around music and its unique ability to connect and inspire people. Our goal is to make a positive difference through music – by using music as both a magnet and as a source of healing.
HOAP is a multi-phase project, beginning with a documentary film about music and our mission. Through performances and interviews with music-makers from every genre and all walks of life, we explore music as a universal language and unifying force. We also take a look at music’s profound effect on our emotions and its role in religion across the world. Finally, HOAP examines music’s healing power, as is evidenced in the work of Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy and The Rhythmic Arts Project.
The second phase is the annual, cross-genre HOAP Music Festival, which will be held in a different country each year. The purpose of the festival is to promote cultural tolerance through music, as well as to raise funds to benefit a different music healing organisation that will be selected each year.
Future, on-going phases of HOAP will be to continue to grow and expand, continually reaching more people and helping more individuals and communities through music.
We hope you join us on this journey…
